Even in safemode W/Networking if the ethernet cable is plugged up i get that message, if its unplugged everything works fine, and ive run virus scans MalwareBytes, advance systemcare, etc even after i used combofix and it shows no virus's, and i'm pretty sure the virus i had is gone, its just something the virus left behind or a setting it changed thats causing the problem when it connects to the internet, and also i know the problem is not the ethernet cable itself, because i have ubuntu also installed on my computer and the net works fine on that. That is good to hear. I had completely overlooked the puppy. Couldn't figure out why I had to sign in again, then remembered I had booted into Win7 to take care of an AntiSpyware hiccup ( Webroot Spysweeper is not compatible with Win7 ) went ahead and purchased SUPERantispyware. Anyway, that is much better than the old reformat and reinstall routine. Is usually pretty good at catching that stuff.
Must have been a new one. Chances are the information has been forwarded to them and it will show in a definition update down the road.
Good job, and thnks for posting the solution as it may help someone else down the road. Thanks guys for all the help, this was a lifesaver!
I?m not at all a computer expert, so I wrote down the steps in laymen?s terms:-Use these steps to remove Antimalware Doctor (-Run Avast! To find rootkitIn my case, the rootkit was C:WindowsSystem32Drivefaiszvf.sys, and when I tried to delete it I got the message?system cannot find the specific file?-Download latest version of puppy linux ( which is an operating system, like Windows, you will load this operating system in order to delete the rootkit-Use ImgBurn ( or another CD burning program to create Puppy Linux disc. In ImgBurn: insert blank CD-R or other blank media and choose?write image file to disc? Now select the lupu-510.iso file and choose?write to disc?-Now start your computer in BIOS (usually done by pressing and holding F1, F12 or another specific key during startup, you might have to look up how to do this for your specific computer).-In BIOS, go through the menus until you find the boot sequence list. The default sequence is to boot from the hard drive first. Change the order to boot from the CD or DVD drive first.-Put the CD you made into your computer and hit save settings and exit in BIOS.
The computer will restart and load Puppy Linux.-Now you can use Puppy Linux to look at (and delete) the files on your hard drives. They are located at the lower left corner of the Puppy Linux desktop (icons sda1, sda2, etc.) After finding your main hard drive, navigate to the rootkit file (mine was at C:WindowsSystem32Driversfaiszvf.sys).

Now right-click the file and delete it.-Select?power-off computer? From the start menu. If it asks you to save your settings, you can choose?Do not save?-Finally, remove Puppy Linux CD, turn on the computer and go into BIOS, and choose to boot from hard drive. When you boot Windows, everything should be fixed.
